MLK Day Parade and Celebration

The city’s annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Unity Parade and Celebration is held the third Monday in January. The parade begins at Citrus Elementary School, 87 North Clarke Road, and ends at the parking lot of the West Oaks Mall. The public is invited to attend a post-parade celebration in the West Oaks Mall food court. See the past event photos.

Black History Month Essay Contest

Each February, the city sponsors a Black History Essay Contest open to 5th grade students attending Ocoee schools. The winners are announced at a City Commission meeting televised on Ocoee TV Spectrum Channel 493 and livestreamed. Black History Month Essay Winners

Memorial Day Ceremony

This event provides an opportunity for members of our community to honor all those who have served their country and given their lives for our freedom.

Veterans Day Ceremony

This event is held to honor and thank all veterans who have served in the U.S. military.
